The most important difference between Hourly & Live-In Care is the daily cost. for shifts of 9+ hours, there is the additional charge of 1.5x the hourly rate for Overtime. Another advantage of Live-In Care is the 24 hours continuous relationship between one Aide & your Loved One.

Hourly Care is a specified number of hours of care per day or week. Live-In Care is continuous round-the-clock care, with 1 caregiver living in the Client's home.
Schedules
The Cost of Hourly Care is based on the Level-of-Care determined by the Plan-of-Care. Also: If the location of services is semi-remote, there is a nominal increase in the Rate. Live-In Care is a fixed cost/day, regardless of the Level-of-Care.
Cost
With hourly care, caregivers come and go at scheduled times to provide assistance with daily living activities, medication reminders, and companionship. With live-in care, caregivers are available 24/7 to provide continuous care.
Level-of-Care
Hourly Care is appropriate for the individual needing morning-to-evening care.
Live-In Care is preferred when who require 24-hour supervision and assistance with all aspects of daily living.
